Do it!
Like others, my experience of Bikesafe was a great day out and very rewarding too
However, Bikesafe more of a gentle intro to advanced riding by the police, as opposed to a proper advanced course.
If you're just curious about improving your riding and want a fun day out, then do Bikesafe.
If you're truly interested improving your riding, then invest in a day (or two) on the road with the likes of Rapid Training or UK Advanced

You will have an utterly brilliant day
(even better than superbike school, in my experience) and your riding will be transformed with skills that will last a lifetime
Have fun, whatever you decide

Every biker should do this - no exceptions!!
The morning is spent looking at the various aspects of biking such as filtering, accident avoidance etc etc. Then in the afternoon they pair you up and you go out for a ride. One person leads, plod in the middle and the other person follows.
When you're in the lead you have to be quite observant and keep an eye on the plods indicators. Every so often he'll pull you both over into a car park or side-road for a debrief.
Plod was generally happy with my riding, the only problem was that I went over the speed limit several times
The bloke I was paired with on the other hand was a complete nutter, and made quite a number of very risky overtakes on corners, and into on-coming traffic etc. It was good to see how it shouldn't be done though!
I did mine at the Ace Cafe last October. Great day out..highly recommended. You get a very decent lunch. Drinks and snacks are provided as well.

Hi again,
Of course, BikeSafe is just an intro to getting more from your riding. Did anyone else progress from BikeSafe onto more advanced training (e.g. the IAM, RoADAR or professional coaching from the likes of Rapid Training, RideDrive or UK Advanced)?
If money is precious, then BikeSafe is incredibly good value. If time is more precious, then a day on the road with the likes of Rapid Training would be brilliant (certainly better than BikeSafe).
I always wanted to get as much enjoyment as possible from riding, so went on to do a variety of courses and experiences on road, dirt and track. Needless to say, I get loads more out of my bike now
and it's been a blast
