Hi All

Pleased to say that I passed my DAS today first time - great instructor who showed me the ropes.

Promptly went out today and bought my first bike. I was lookng at Fazers, Hornets, Bandits etc. Was even about to get my cash out on a 1200 Bandit but then I saw a Bright Orange Triumph Speed 4 600 and fell in love. Absolutely love the look and the engine seems a peach - 100 HP, cheapish insurance and more than enough performance for a 1st bike.

So what do you guys think? Am I going to enjoy it? Anything I should be aware of? I am picking it up tomorrow night - can't wait!!

Cheers

Simon

Brave man doing a test and getting a first bike at this time of year.

If you like it now you will love it when the road is warm and dry.

Congrats mate...enjoy the bike...wrap up warm wont ya and be sure to give it a good hose down to get all the salt off if you go for a spin on it over winter or the finish will suffer badly.

Hi Simon,

CONGRATULATIONS! Well done for passing and in winter too.

Great choice of bike. The Speed 4 is supposed to be superb and certainly looks the biz. You don't see many of 'em around either; always nice to be a bit different from the usual Japanese stuff.

I'd recommend a good spray of ACF50 to keep the winter weather from ruining it wink

Also, now you've passed, you should read the BikeSafe thread wink :

Have fun - it can only get better as spring approaches! smile

Nice one sir, definitely good choice of first bike too, but then I am biased as I've got one smile Pop some crash bungs on it, they're cheap enough and give you some peace of mind in the current greasy conditions smile

One word.
Bikesafe.

Ride it all winter - learn how it handles in all conditions, wash it often.
Then come summer, you'll have the time of your life!

You got insurance sorted yet?

All sorted re the insurance - got it for £280 fully comp. Is that a reasonable price?
Picking up the bike tonight in the dark - never driven at night before on the bike...Wish me luck!

Good price indeed!
Whos it with? whats the excess?
Good luck tonight, just take it gently and remember grip is very low at the moment. Wrap up warm!
