Is this ok, or will the poor little stand get tired and fail during the night??!

Cheers.

I Leave mine on the stand most of the time, gives me more room in the garage.

I've never had a stand fail

My ZX9 has sat quite comfortably on mine for a month with no falling over. Much more substantial than the side stand i'd say.

probably better for the bike long term, you arent risking a flattened bit on the tyre.

Had mine for about 10 years and used it on about 6 different bikes, excellent peice of kit.

To lift the front, i fitted a wood beam across the garage ceiling & use a heavy duty rachet strap around the headstock to lift the front on the abba stand

Had mine a couple of years and wouldn't be without it. To lift the front of the bike, I just use the jack out of my car under the engine.

You would need the superbike stand, just select your model of bike when ordering from their website and it will add the correct adapters.

As for the front lift, I just use the jack from my car.

speedycom are doing them for the same price as ABBA but the front stand is cheaper. can't work that out either

I use a Harris front stand, fits under the bottom of the forks so you can remove the front wheel if need be, quality bit of kit.

Not really an answer to your question, sorry paperbag but this Abba stand has been an absolute godsend. As we have a single garage and we need to get the car in too, we needed something that would help us move the bike to a position parallel with the back wall (short wall) of the garage. This stand helps us do this very easily. you can swing the bike about with no problems. 47 point turns no more! hehe

I use an Abba stand for my Duke and it's been great. Really easy to put the bike on the stand on your own - much much easier than the usual paddock stands. I use a standard front paddock stand to lift the front. It's fine for getting the fron wheel out for tyre changes etc. but wouldn't be any good for fork removal. For many bikes Abba do a front stand that fit under the front of the engine and is cheap enough - doesn't fit the Duke though frown

I had the same problem - with the bikes i've owned, you couldn't use a jack under the engine, unless you wanted to remove the fairing & exhaust, every time you wanted to work on the front wheel/forks. That's why i fitted a wood beam across the garage ceiling & lift the front around the headstock with a HD rachet strap.

I was thinking about making my own abba stand but then realised that I could just use my engine hoist and have more flexibility.
