I think you'd be lucky to get that much off unless it's over priced to start with and not selling, if you want any accessories or clothing try and negitiate a deal on them with some money off the bike.

Have a good look about, as it's the start of a new year. I'm not sure when other manufacturers change models, but i got £1000 off my Hornet as it was a 2006 model (3 miles on the clock) and the 2007 had just come out, so the dealerships wanted them out of the way.

The same may be the case this year round, but not for Hondas, as they make major changes only every three years.

Private id say Yes,dealer , pushing it...always,always worth asking thou..

What I would do is haggle, agree a price and if it still in budget for you THEN ask for a free service and a tank full of petrol, maybe some discount off parts from the shop for the rest of the year or something along those lines..Any of that puts £££ in your pocket even if it isnt off the initial purchase price.

All depends on what the bike owes the dealer and how quickly they want to sell it.

Walk in with the cash and see what he says.. If he says no walk away. if the price is close he will chase you down the road.

good points Rob but with a circa 2k budget I dont think the OP is looking for a 2007 bike in 2008...

I am looking for a 3-5 year old Hornet/Bandit or CBF 600 with between 5-20K on the clock... if they offered me a 2007 bandit with a MASSIVE discount I may not be able to say no...

I managed to get £1,000 discount on a new K7 GSXR 750, in the middle of last summer (if you can call it that!) from a Suzuki main dealer.

And you'll be wanting the complimentary "moon on a stick" with that as well I assume sir?

I managed to persuade Honda Chiswick to knock £750 off a £2750 'W' Reg hornet by getting s big discount and not having any warrenty/PDI...

But when I looked at the options on the table I opted for an 'S' Reg Bandit that was £1300 that a friend was selling...

Been out all weekend... biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The only way you can guarantee that kind of money off is if you can get them through the manufacturers friends and family scheme.
