Doc put me on another painkiller..Gabapentin, so along with my Dihydrocodine,Diclophenic, and the occasional Diazepam I'm slighty nuts I am definatly going into hospital on 21st. Anyways, the bike..had a viewing recently and I beleive, after doing my homework, that the price is very cheap. However the guy that popped around looked over it very well, really knew his stuff, not hard to impress me, i was stoned and know next to feck all bout bikes, but try my hardest to keep it in good nick. He was a very nice guy, I need a new back tyre and there's a small hole just below where the can is fitted,it's a Scorpion can. He agreed apart from that the bike is in excellent nick. NOW wld you ( bearing in mind my back is knackered and I can't ride it anywhere or really move it) buy a new back tyre and downpipes. I believe it's the downpipes that my can is fixed to (told you guys I know nowt about bikes) I don't want to spend too much money on the bike as I have to get rid..but I ain't just gonin to give it away, don't really need the money..just don't want to see it rot in garage. OR should i lower the price by a couple of hundred...that would be a real steal for someone..but I'm a tightass Fifer and don't just want to give it away cos of a small hole and a new bk tyre( but that saves me the hassle of fixing this stuff myself when I can't even get it out garage). Don't really know what to do..all i know is I won't be riding it again..what do you guys think??

Cheers guys...I'm off to take my pills..im on 26 a day !! wobble

All the best

Barry.

You got a link to the advert?

I'd just drop the price by £100, on a take it or leave it offer. No point going to the hassle of putting a new tyre and down pipes on, as it the long run it will make sod all difference.
I've been trying to sell my CBR600 since September last year, the fact is spent £150 on new tyres has mad bugger all difference, as I've only had 2 people interested in it since i put it up for sale, one of whom bailed out despite me offering him it for £3750 frown

I'd put a link on..if i knew how to do it...don't think I'd be allowed anyway..just wondered what people thought. If I can put a link on I will, my Fazer can be seen in my profile.

In the interests of everyone not having to trawl the classifieds, and not for bumping purposes, its this one:
http://pistonheads.com/sales/327073.htm

I'd be tempted to leave the price where it is, but be prepared to drop your bottom, begrudging acceptance price by the cost of a new rear tyre. If they quibble, tell them thats what you are doing. Getting another fitted will cost you more than it will raise the price of the bike by. As regards the hole in the downpipes, is it massively obvious? If so, put it in the words in the classified ad, and be honest about it, if you cant hide it by putting a sticker over it smile

Price, as you say, seems on the right side of low. Its presumably jsut the bl00dy awful weather thats putting people off. Might be worth talking to your local bike shop about an SoR deal, jsut to get the cash flowing in?

Barry, if the cash isn't that much of an issue, how about using the bike as a deposit on a new one to be delivered in a few months or so....give you something to look forward to mate!

Thanks for advice randle - someone suggested that it could just be the link pipe and that these have holes to let water out anyway...i might just email the guy..knock off the price of a new back tyre...if he's happy..great..if not..i'll fix it in spring..get it all done up and either p/x or sell at a slightly higher price..knocking off £80 quid for a new back tyre is a steal.

Thanks for your thoughts/advice.

As you correctly identify the whole is there to allow moisture /water to leave the exhaust, dont let him knock you down on that..

Good luck with the sale mate, looks cleaner than the average
