Side Stand Mod for a Honda PSI 125??

A bit of a long shot this one... a friend of mine commutes on a Honda PSI scooter, but has recently very badly hurt his foot and will need surgery. After the Op he wants to continue riding the scooter but will not be able to put the bike back on a centre stand due to his injury, however if it had a side stand this would work fine. He has spoken to the local Honda dealer who tells him that it is not possible to retro-fit a side stand. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Assuming Honda don't offer this option I should imagine that it might be possible for someone to fabricate a part and fit it to the scooter, does anyone know of someone that might be able to help with this close to either Kingston or Middlesex?
