Okay im running a 50cc geared moped and it doesn't idle and i believe it may be running a bit to rich. I've only really just got into bikes so am a bit unsure of what to do, but i know its to do with the carburetor settings. At least i'm pretty sure it is :s Just wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what i need to do to adjust it? or wheter it really is just worth getting the dealer to do it? would prefer to do it for myselft though.

Thanks,

Stuart biggrin

If it`s running rich it`s more likely that the air filter needs replacing..it`s unlikely that the carb settings have been played with unless it`s run a noisy pipe before perhaps.
A good manual is a must if you are going to continue to repair/tinker yourself..

Just try turning the idle screw up. You will need a manual to figure out which one that is though.

Very easy to tweak yourself. Fit a new plug , ensure air filter is clean and the exhaust isnt blocked (probably is ).
Idle on the carb is adjusted by a simple stop....in for faster...adjust no more than 1/8th of a turn at a time ,flicking the throttle closed each time.

Hope you are using top grade 2 stroke oil....It really does make a difference. Most of the RXs have increased compression too , so use super unleaded fuel.

Good luck, lets us know how things go.
