Whats the quickest bike you've owned. And the slowest!
Discussion
They've all done a maximum of 70mph, as anything else would be naughty
Horses for courses, to be honest. CBR600F as the slowest, but the others had their own fortes, Blade fast in a straight line, RSVR evilly quick in corners, and the F4 damned quick everywhere, but slower at filtering, as I'm a girly wuss, and conscious of the price of the mirrors

When I was 16 my Honda SS50 was the fastest thing on the planet, especially if there was a tail wind! (It managed 56mph on one occasion!!) By the time I became 17, my S50 was walking pace slow and my Honda CB250 became the quickest bike on the road. Each subsequent bike has then appeared phenomenally fast when new but has ‘slowed down’ with time. (Now a-days it takes longer for them to appear slow as I don’t use then so often!)
I think the number on the dial is irrelevant. The fastest bike is the one that gives you that special thrill at that particular time, and relative to your previous experiences. The slowest bike is the one parked in the garage.

If we are talking acceleration from standstill then simple:
Slowest Suzuki SV650S
Fastest Aprilia SL1000 Falco
Fastest I will admit to going on the falco is on the autoroute back to calais in northern france (because I would never do this in the UK) 245km/h on the falco full of luggage/panniers acting like an airbrake.. it simply wouldn't go any quicker lol

If your SS50 was showing 56 then it must have been a European import, mine never got over 42 MPH I think the number on the dial is irrelevant. Fastest was either my CBR600 or VFR750, can't remember which but I reached 148 indicated in Germany, head on the tank.
But I agree, fast isn't necessarily maximum fun. I'd still quite like a FS1E or an AP50, sadly I'm banned from 2 wheels by Mrs OB...
