I am thinking about getting a CRF 450X. Mainly for green laning use. Any good dealers around London? What are the downsides to this bike? All feedback very welcome. Ta.

Great Bikes I have the R so not as friendly as the X but usual Honda excellent build, just put oil in it and keep it WIDE OPEN!! No seriously light as a feather, fast as you will ever need and unburstable.
Which shop should I send my comission request to?

Motoden in Shoreditch are a Honda dealer and believe it or not they stock CRF X's as well.

Do these bikes have a road kit you can buy to add lights/indicators so you can ride them on road to your greenlane areas?

I believe most dealers would register the bike for you, which would then mean the road kit was added by the dealer. I had my CRF road registered by the dealer.

Thanks Andy. I've found a company here in Poole that organise greenlane days and days on a motorcross circuit so am going to do some of those on their KTM bikes and if I like it will change my SuperMoto to a trail bike for on and off road use!

If the X has the same power delivery as the R, I'd ride one before buying one. The torque means they never stop pulling. They go like a 2 stroke at the top end, at low revs.

Even though I'm 6'5" and about 18 stone, I found this quite knackering, so bought a KTM EXC 450 instead, which although not as savage is still too much for enduro type events.

In my opinion, unless you need a 450R for competition MX, I'd go for a smaller cc bike. Off road is very different to on road. If you have the chance, go to one of Ady Smith's KTM days and you can try a whole range of bikes to see what you fancy after riding each for a few hours.

i deliver to motoden on a regular basis and they are top notch guys and would be able to sort you out no problem......

Cheers fellas. So am I right in thinking that the 250 will be more than ample for green laning? What is the main difference between the 250 and 450. I mean in real terms, not the obvious 200cc difference.
