Suzuki Intruder 125 for a newbie??
Discussion
Hi all,
Like it says I'm a newbie biker, or at least hope to be soon. I've read the newbie stuff but am intreagued by the above bike which isnt mentioned. My bike would probably be used every day in all kinds of weather as a commuter, 50 miles per day total most of it at NSL. Is this bike suitable for this?? If not why not.
Anyone here have one of these as a first bike I just love them.
Other 125 cruiser suggestions welcome, this is my favourite so far though.

I don't know anything about that kind of bike but my first thoughts are that you'll probably decide that it's too slow very quickly doing that kind of commute and want to take your test in which case you'll be wanting to offload it in short order. Therefore why not just do your das straight away or buy something like a cg125 that doesn't require round the clock cleaning to retain any kind of value?
Good luck.
Good luck.
Yes but arent all 125's slow??
Not sure of UK law but here in Ireland we have to get a 125 (or restricted equivalent) for test and are still limited to 125cc for 2 years after obtaining full licence.
ETA: I'm not really after out and out speed anyway.

Even if your not after out and out speed, trying to keep up with traffic on a bike that can only just cruise at 60 will not be fun.
Yip.I run a CG125 at the moment. Being 17st as long as the nsl road is flat,or down hill and no strong head wind it is fine keeping up with traffic, otherwise it is terrible.
Hopefully get the DAS out of the way first time in February.
