I should know better. I used to be TrafPol (still BiB), and went to more than enough fatals involving motorcyclists.
You're always going to come off worst in a car vs bike bump. As my Sergeant at the time used to say, "You can be a biker that's 100% in the right, but you're still 100% dead".
Sobering thoughts, but I still ride anyway. A colleague died last night (not someone I know, but from the same Division as me). Youngish healthy guy, just died in the night.
Carpe diem.

And definitely leave your pride at home when on a bike.
Deepest Sympathy to all affected by the accident.

It's got to be just about the worst bit of the job, the knock on the door in the middle of the night, then "Are you Mrs XYZ? I'm PC Dibble from the Road Policing Unit. I need to come in and speak to you please..."

RIP to those that never made it through the day
Let's all remember how vulnerable we are and make sure we ride as safely as we can whilst still enjoying the last true bastion of freedom on the roads
Loveley sentiment..

Saw a biker down on the A40 yesterday morning driving to work....looked nasty, and another one this morning in almost the same spot, although this giying was sitting up at the side of the road so hopefully wasn't too bad....
On top of this passed what I pressume to have been a bike fatality on way home from work 2 weeks ago......
Really not sure I would want to commute on a bike.......even though I have toyed with the idea on numerous occasions.....
