Ok, so lets have it. No nasty ones involving injuries etc, cause that just ain't nice. I'm talking stupid things you've done causing adequate embarrassment.

Me?
Picked up the 06 R6, and dropped it with 2 miles on the clock. Ten minutes I'd owned it!! Not a single sodding car driver would help. I just laughed it off of course......christ was I angry!

Stacked same bike into a field. Had just gone to Stowmarket with the boys to have the suspension set up. The guy setting it up (ex racer....no, actualy current racer I think) came back atfer the test ride(!!) saying it was the best bike he'd ever ridden etc, etc...... I binned it on the way home trying to keep up with the boys! Gutted. T'was a case of target fixation and locking the arms....went straight on and came to rest watching the bike flipping over, and over.

And here goes....the hedge!!! Well, we all know the story of the little bunny etc, etc.......and that's it really!

Mine wasn't my fault, but still ridiculous!

My boss reversed into my 2 week old CBR. It damaged every panel including the tank. 3mph impact = £2500 bill on her insurance!!

It is said that there are two types of bikers...those that have dropped their bikes, and those that are going to drop their bikes.
Mine was in the company car park 3 days into ownership. I kicked the side stand down and proceded to lower the bike onto the stand. The problem was the stand wasn't fully extended, the bike leaned to a point of no return - crash.
I nearly broke my back lifting the bike back up before anyone saw me! irked

Turning right too slowly, put my feet down too late and placed her as gently on the deck as humanly possible (tiny scratch on R&G & can).

Grabbed a fist full of front brake on my DAS.
My instructor said there's a left turn after this rise, what he didn't say was that it was just after the rise and tight. I panicked and grabbed the front brake.

Got up to see my instructor riding down the road, and a (rather attractive) blonde Mother & Daughter combo asking me if I am OK while I am turning bright red and trying not to look at them........

lol - wheres that brother of yours? His ones dead funny.

I've never had a fault crash.
However, my Hyosung Gt125R lasted 2 months before i totalled it.
Some tosser changed lanes on the M25 into me.
I didn't have enough grunt to get out of the situation.
Serves me right for going in the fast lane on a 125!

Didn't Ewan (or Charley, I forget) drop their bike at the filling station 100yds down the road in London from when they set off on the Long Way Round?

That would not have felt like a good omen at the time, I imagine!

Me and my initial misunderstanding of GSXR K3 stands.. basically any slight incline and I mean slight that has the front wheel lower than the rear will see the bike fall forward off its stand and over. Found this 15mins after purchasing bike and trying to fill it up with fuel when it fell forward into the car in fronts bumper cos of the situation described above. I luckily managed to hold enough of it up to prevent a full disaster. Driver was cool about it too despite the scuff to his paintwork. I was more than suitably embarressed and appologetic.
Its the only bike I've ever owned where this happens.

whistle Only the one here, was outside the Ace, turning left at the traffic lights. Too much power, cold tyres and ended up highsiding at 10-15mph and breaking my collarbone.

Classic new bike stupid idiot moment. Going round a right handed bend, on the way home after a bit of a ride, see there is a nice fresh pile of horse manure in the road, right on the apex of the bend. Scared of sliding the front end I stand the bike up to get through it and then proceed to fixate on the kerb rather than getting it round. frown manage to slow down and get round enough to glance off the kerb and do a nice slow tumble, just missing the hedge. The bike skids off down the road on it's side..... Lady who just left the stables from around the corner drives past, no one stops.... redface

Anyway, pick the bike up, using the super human strength of pure anger. Scratched fairings and levers. new plastics needed. Not a happy bunny. Was not going that fast and could have got round easily...

Dropped my Old GSX1000FJ while trying to put it on the center stand outside the local pub.

If that were not bad enough it fell against my mate Yam XJ900 and knocked that over toopaperbag

out for a ride with mates, sitting stationary at traffic lights. i was took close to my mate infront so that when i relaxed the brake due to talking & the bike rolled forward there was no room for my leg to follow it. laid it down oh so gently i only got a 2" scratch on the plastics. hurt my shoulder & back for a week though after trying to hold it at the wrong angle. lucky it was a £500 heap a RF600 really.
other one is wet grass leaving a campsite on stroppy, engine coughed so i gave it a bit of power but hadnt pulled the clutch in enough. bike did 270 degrees then i had to put it down as no kill switch etc - did i feel daft?

Just remembered another one!

Remember Frank Thomas Paddock Boots?

I had a pair when I had my XT550.
After Kick starting the bike I rode off and had to stop atthe next set of lights.

I went to put my foot down once stopped only to find that I had managed to loop my right bootlace over the kick starter and could not reach the ground.

I just keeled over!

broken brake lever, bruised arse and very damaged pride.

Decelerating into a roundabout [from warp fact 1.55] ... a friendly police officer steps out into the road and waves me in ... I think SHIT!! Prison time!!

Pull in calm as a cucumber ... take of gloves, glasses, helmet, ear plugs etc. get off and forget to put the stand down tongue outtongue out 3 week old R6 straight on its side ... the officer did have a little smirk on his face!!

Luckily he accused me of wheelieing up the road which when he checked with the reporting officer I didn't match the description ... phew!!

Minimal damage to the crank case cover!
