Afternoon,

I need to have my arm stand adjusted on my bike as it wont spring down while sat on the bike you have to tilt the bike to the right hand side to get it down and its making it a bit hard to get off it (im a girl)

Does anyone know a good bike garage, who would be able to

A look at it
B complete any work which would help this problem

thanks

Surrey - depends where you are!
Theres a great place in Tonbridge (i know its kent but hey ho!) - its a family business who've sold me 3 bikes now, and serviced all of them every 6 months.
A great place, and comes with the best recommendation (from me!)

Do you mean side stand , if so and same applys to the main stand there is nothing to adjust , well on the bikes i have owned over the years there has never been anything and believe me i have had a few!

I'd say i probably wants a good blast with wd40 or simmilar. or the spring is missing .

I would give that a go first , where about in sutton are you i'm quite close to there.

Thanks for that ,

Its not that it wont come down it the actual design on the bike which is poor, thats why I want to see if someone can alter it or replace it with something more practical.

By all accounts the bloke in the MOT centre also mentioned how bad it was too.

I think it needs a mod on it.

I just dont want to drop it again and look like a wazzock at BoxHill!

It sounds to me like you need a shorter side stand. The one downside to this is that if you have one fitted the bike when on the stand will be at a much greater angle, therefore potentially more difficult to get upright.

Both my Aprilia's suffered from this but as I'm 6'2" it was never a real problem and became second nature.

Try these boys who I have always been exceptionally helpful.

Wheelpower as such have gone , their lad Kelvin i think his name is still runs the Apprilla showroon thought . I dont think they would be the place to go . if its a mod to an original design i think you will have to find a older dealer used to making things .

depending on space under the bike & so on, how about just bending the sidestand a bit?
take it off, one bolt & careful with the spring, place in vice - add leverage (put other end in scaffold bar) pull a lot & replace. or similar.
or bend the bit it fits on the frame up a bit?

I think I need someone who does mods who I can take it too and let them have a look.

Its a cracking bike, and love going out on it, but getting off is big thing now I have dropped it in the back of my mind.
