Late last year i managed to happen upon a very VERY mint 600 Bandit, in dark metallic green. Its on an 'N' plate, low mileage etc etc.
Having looked at all the pics on various suzuki forums, and others on the road and at shows, it seems that there should be a grab rail on the rear somewhere, either the one that goes all the way round, or the ones that are attached either side.
There are no holes in the fairing, and no patches on where the holes should be!!
Should i have one, or did the early models not get them?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Import JDM 750 bandits have not grab, rail ... possibly import 600's too

Check to see if it is a UK supplied bike

dunno what it'd do to the price tbh, if your happy with it for the price then why worry?

ETA: just thought - does it look standard apart from the missing handle? got pics? it could be aftermarket plastics on there.

only had that thought due to some of the pics on the gsx org site, seems people like rear plastics very minimalist. dont get it myself, but thats life.

my dad had one, it had one grab handle on either side. Th only thing about them was that the rar foot pegs are welded onto the frame and can bend the frame if the bikes dropped as they poke out a bit. Lovely looking bikes though biggrin

IIRC, the VERY EARLY UK 600 bandits came without grab handles. Most were red bikes, but I am working from hazy memory. A Suzuki dealer should be able to confirm this with a quick look at the old micro-fisches (if the early bikes aren't on electronic catalogues).

Hope this helps.

I seem to recall the GSX600N (naked version) didn't have the grab handles, whereas the faired GSX600F did. I think thats right anyway. I had a P plate 600N that someone then fitted an aftermarket nose fairing too (go figure). Nice little bike for what it was, totally reliable too.

Still got the fairing btw if you happen to want/need one? biggrin

At the risk of being pedantic, I think you mean GSF600N. Sorry...

I always see decidely slimmer persons than I on bikes (as most people are slimmer) and envy their power to weight advantage!

it might well be one of the first bandits, ill give a dealer a call to find out the story.
Ive also noticed that it has no centre stand, and by the looks of it never has!!

Thanks for the offer of the fairing, but i prefer the naked look!
The only thing i might change is the exhaust system, although, even the collector is in great condition, so maybe just a link pipe and can.

thanks for the replies

Yes it was. I bought a cheap tea-pot once that was a trade-in at the dealer I was working for at the time. Without doubt the most comfortable bike I've ever used for motorway work...
