I quite fancy a MotoGP but all my mates are into the 24H race in April so we go to that instead... its a great ride down! I will do Catalunya or Valencia at some point though. And Brno. And.... etc!

Yep we're going to the Le Mans moto gp. Going down for the weekend. Trouble with Assen is it's on a Saturday so more of a rush.

Definately interested in doing a euro GP this year. Only passed my test last July but coming along in leaps & bounds so feel the need for a roadtrip as most of my rides are only for a couple of hours at most in the local area.

My mate who recently passed as well, wanted to do a trip to Ireland till I convinced him of the benefits of european weather! But although he's ok with going to the Nurburgring for a lap or two, he's not interested in watching a GP!! Gonna have to work on that but if you do start planning something, keep us posted as I would definately be interested (along with a non-biking mate who volunteered to drive a support car!)/

Oh dear....I don't think you and I will be going on the same trip then! biggrin

My initial outline of a plan for me & my buddies was to travel out to the German GP on a wednesday or thursday, do the gp stuff, then go home via the Nurburgring on a monday/tuesday. The thinking being I'd rather not throw the bike down the road at the 'Ring first & ruin the rest of the trip sulking about it.

Having said that, if a trip gets organised via PH then I will certainly take a look. smile

How can we get the wheels in motion to get this sorted then?

1. Decide on which Moto GP gets the consenus vote
2. Suggest a basic route
3. Get a map of all the Formula 1 hotels between here and the track (basic but perfectly adequate for those wary of budget)
4. Start a list of riders up for it
5. Someone ensures everyone has bought a ticket for the race weekend. I think organising via a group over the internet could become unnecessarily complicated for the organiser.
6. Decide a timetable for the route (ferry times out and return - again individuals responsible for ferry booking, unless a group discount could be organised)
7. Suggest a meetup point in the UK (Clacket Lane services final meet prior to ferry, with local rendezvous points?)
8. Head off into blue yonder

Well I really am up for this, take the point it would be awkward to organise over the net but would book the time off work and join the group without fail.

Yep meet for a couple of beers somewhere and get something sorted, sooner the better. I'd love to go to an Italian GP but up for any venue.

I can book the time off work if needs be so that's not an issue.

Assen or Brno look close enough for a weekender, and better beer smile
