Anyone done this on a bike?

Sounds like they've got pretty stringent dB restrictions - would a termi'd Ducati be OK do you know?

Eta: forgot to ask - is it any good on a bike? We're a bit lacking here in the South.

Thery are very strict on noise limits - I've only done it in my 5 but they dB tested every car. Not sure on the exact limits, I'm sure a google would help. I've not tracked a bike (yet) so don't know how it would compare - but its a good fast track with a couple of good chicanes, not too bumpy either.

I think they tested cats to 95db but I can't remember to be honest.

It's all on their website actually - I just wondered if anyone had taken a termi'd Ducati there. And if it was worth going to, probably not I reckon.

Hi,

I've done a Castle Combe a few times on a Ducati, an ST2 and an ST4S. Both running standard pipes though. They test every bike with a static microphone first. You don't have to rev a twin as high as a four cylinder. However, I'm pretty sure a termi'd Duke won't pass. Even if you got through the static test, I think they carry out trackside tests as bikes pass by and if you are over the limit then you'll be black flagged.

A mate of mine has a new 1098 with stock pipes. He took it down to CC for a noise test (it's his local track) and it was 1db over the limit. They would not let him run like that.

Perhaps your best option is to get hold of a set of stock end cans to replace you termis for CC. It's a pretty quick change over, not sure how it would effect fuelling though. But there are a number of 748/916/996/998 and 749/999 running so on stock pipes you should be okay.

It's a good track though so worth the effort.

Thanks mate - that kind of seals it for me. I'd rather go to brands than have to bugger about changing exhausts etc. Cheers.
