Princes William and Harry are planning a hair-raising 1,000-mile motorbike ride across Africa.

The brothers want to follow the epic example set by Ewan McGregor and his friend Charley Boorman, who biked across some of the roughest terrain in the world in the TV series Long Way Down.

I'm not an anti-royalist but this is a piss boiler.

1. fears that it could cost £100K in 'security' to protect them. Read that as costing you and I.

2. They supposedly hold jobs down in the forces. Would Private Bloggs be given the sime time off to follow his dream?

And they want to be treated like normal folk...???!!!

Just the two of them, and their bikes biggrin
And 24/7 air cover, so 5 Chinooks, a platoon of QRF, bodyguards, support crew, catering, hair stylists, press officers, and a veritable legion of Press

Typical Daily Wail statement though, they seem to forget that they get the same protection whenever they go overseas, they'd have the same protection if they went to New York for an organised visit, Australia or Afghanistan.

"William has long had a love of powerful motorbikes - owning a 175mph Honda Blackbird - which has previously raised concerns among police officers detailed to protect him."

They are only going 1000mile so why would they need £100k security for 3 days riding.

Why do they need security anyway?

They are in the army. Aren't they trained to kill any longer?

Government cutbacks, they are only allowed to kill 3 people each a year now. If they go over quota they are charged for the ammunition.
