I'm seeing them everywhere now, and I can really see the attraction.
They're pretty big bikes - so ideal for tall people like me. They don't fall over, and they look like they have good frontal weather protection.
Has anyone ridden one?
What are they like?

Not really...I was just wondering what they're like to ride.

Sorry, was a little exaggeration, or more of a premonition....or in fact an insight to how angry I've become of good old blighty of late. Sorry.

They look fun to me but not sure they are suited to town work being a bit too wide.

I would rather have a nice 250cc scooter for zipping in and out of traffic.

They are also a tad expensive.

Would love a go of one.

The Piaggio MP3 or Nexus thingywatsit you mean.

I had a play on one a while ago while resting my foot post accident - they're actually quite fun when you learn to trust them - loads of lean in the corners, loads of grip and good brakes (2 disks at the front).

When it rains they are still practical as you don't have to put your feet down as at low speed there's a kind of locking system that blocks the front suspension - kind of lazy but hey if you're in a suit...

The piaggio dealer claimed that they are only as wide as some of the bigger scooters (I'll have a look compared my X9 commuter slag boxedin when I get to negociate my Kawa Versys). He also said that on the 250 and more you can get the tail to push wide (if that's your kind of thing) if you ride hard.

On the downside they are quite heavy and certainly the 125 is really not at all exciting.

Jeeezus Christ! As if they're not bad enough in corners as standard...

Why would anyone do that, FFS?
