GSXR-600 or Street Triple
Discussion
Passed my DAS last September and promply ordered a Street Triple after testing it and SV650 which was on my shortlist. I decided that 12 months down the line, I would trade up to a GSXR-600 (k6 / k7). Got till May before picking up the Triumph.
However, I had a chances to take out an SV650 a few times - while it's a good bike, I've gotten used to the performance rather quickly and am now having second thoughts that I might find the Triumph the same.
I love how easy the Triple is to ride but I know come trading time, I'm going to take a shafting so now wondering whether to just cancel the Triumph and make the step up to the Suzuki instead..
What do you think guys?

I wouldn't have thought there was much in it. There's only 10 ponies between them and about the same torque. Street Triple would probably feel faster as there's no fairing to keep the wind off.
If you want a bigger kick then I would just go straight to a GSXR750 or a Speed Triple seeing as you already like both the little brothers.

Having gone from an SV to a GSXR600 k6, there is a massive difference. The handling, confidence and speed and enough to test the hardish of sphinter on the road. The triple if a different ride, if you are doing a lot of town riding, you'll get better visability than the Gixer, some say a 600 is difficult to ride in town, must admit riding in London isn't an issue. Test both, lets face it they are both very fast, very capable bikes that handle fantastically, so you can't go far wrong with either, just depends which feels better. For me the Gixer was better
The bike I will use for weekend / evening blasts so will be staying well away from built up cities/towns if I can help it. I have 2 cars to do that job.
The SV is not as easy to negeotiate through town as the Triple but this is not an issue on a B road/motorways. The Triumph is so confidence inspiring and easy I feel I might just get used to it too quickly.
The Gixxer as some of you mentioned has a steeper learning curve - but provided I'm sensible... having just turned 30 recently, I'm it would be easier to exercise control as opposed to when I was in my early 20s.

Yes but if you want to take it easy the gixxer will bumble along all day long, then if you want to make a tad more progress, drop a gear or 2 and turn the throttle to loud!!!gordski said:
