I was going to take the bike this morning but I saw the frost in the garden and the icy puddles on the drive so I picked up the car keys. …… I know, I’m a wimp! But I really didn’t fancy almost 60 miles, mostly on untreated rural roads, in icy conditions.

When I left home it was OK. No ice on the cars and the sun was shining. After about 5 miles I had to wack up the grips to max as it was so cold but could figure out out why. It was only when I spotted ice on cars that I realised why.

I must be living in some freaky micro-climate.

It was cold in London this morning but it wasn't the coldest this year - early Jan had that. The temperature definitely dropped from recent days, though!

I thought so to. Seemed colder than the last couple of weeks, strange.

Wasn't too bad here - just made sure I stuck on the larger roads as my normal ones weren't gritted and I was too sleepy to worry about sideways action!

Was not too bad this morning. I do leave at 8.30 and its only about 7-8 mile anyway. Last Tuesday was pretty bad when the frost was falling. Had my visor open because it was iced up as well.
