A mate of mines is looking for a bike as he's got his DAS test next week. If he does pass he's looking to buy an ER5, noticed that the local dealer is selling one for £1,400. It's a 2 owner bike on an '04 plate with 15k miles on the clock. It's that a realistic price or is the garage a bit optimistic with the price??

Thanks in advance.

doesnt seem too bad to me.. Its pretty much a slightly detuned GPZ500s engine and tough as ol boots.. Not the most exciting bike on the planet but good dependable transport..

I recon if he has a bit of a haggle should get it for about £1200.. If he keeps it nice should be worth a grand in a years time so cheap transport IMO..

thats my 5p worth

Agreed these things can do 100K miles plus no bother, very cheap to run and dont go too badly, but they are no sportsbikes though ;-) Once they get under £1K changes are you will not loose much more money on them.
