So, I want a Street Triple.

I'm 37, and don't yet have a bike licence.

So, how might one go about this then, without getting poled?

Have you ever ridden a bike? Do your CBT first, see if you like it and then do your DAS.

book yourself a Direct Access course. Starts off with a Theory Test - CBT - a few days on a 500cc then take your test on the 500cc... and of course you pass and you can buy whatever bike you want! Insurace cost permiting!

Yeah, ridden crossers and stuff, so I know I like it.

Just want to get on the road before I am too old to get my leg over...

My advice?

Go out and buy one, stick some *cough* Jersey plates on it and hoon around to your heart's content safe in the knowledge you will forever evade the long arm of the law.

Um, unless you bin it, in which case you are fecked!

HTH

wink

...you need to take your DAS - direct access. Do an intensive course in a week - CBT in a day then a few days of riding culminating in a test at the end of the week. Bosh.

Oh, be prepared to wait for the Street Triple... I believe the waiting list is approx 6 months.

perhaps slightly misleading in terms of the order they need to be taken in?

1.Check your licence to make sure that provisional motorcycle entitlement is there like it should be.
2.book theory test, get practicing for test (mainly working out when to click on hazard perception part) probably take a few weeks before you can get a date to do it
3.cbt, (can be done before or after theory test) car park/road riding, make sure cbt centre know you are intending doing das (if not part of a package), so it'll be on a geared 125cc for the day.
4.do das training and test

(you may also be aware that the test is set to get harder in october, so there will soon be a backlog of people waiting to do their test as the deadline gets closer)

I had the pink Speed Triple years ago. Going for a black one this time round.

I'd get booked in!

I've heard that the training schools are really busy with people doing their tests before the rule change later in the year.

As said soov, even if you dont buy the bike, get your DAS done sharpish. The rules are about to change which will make the test longer, harder* and more expensive.

The triple is a lovely bike by all accounts. But everyone knows nakeds are ghey. Also, do the DAS on the school's bikes, not your new Trumpy.

* This is factual information, not a come-on.
