My dad's parents met as members of the communist party.
He's strongly left leaning (although he sent me to a private school which means I've a very different perspective).

May 1st he'll vote for Boris.

The first time he's voted Tory.

He'd vote for anyone who can get Ken out.

Indeed he wrote to his MP asking that the Labour party find someone else but he got a reply saying "Livingstone is doing a good job".

Awesome.. add another vote for him too. I did actually email Boris over the original Ken coverup story. Also I have a friend who's proper keen on Tory politics and has met Boris recently for a fundraiser. I did ask him to raise the point of motorbikes in Bus Lanes with him directly. So maybe the message did get through wink

'Motorcyles' are generally fine in bus lanes. It's the c**ts on scooters, who have little more than a CBT in their back pocket and some string backed gloves on their hands who are the real menace to cyclists.

I ride (cycle) down the embankment every day and it never fails to amaze me the lack of awareness for any other road users the scooterists have. They've never heard of a lifesaver, or bother checking their blind spot and try and squeeze through the smallest spaces. I nearly punched on ethe other day as he cut me up....

I won't be voting as I don't live in London, but I do ride in most days.

To be honest this is a total non-issue, everyone uses the lanes anyway and you would have to be an utter numpty to get caught so I can't see any reason why this is a reason to vote for him. I don't care who wins, they are both tw@ts from what I can see.

Yeah, but at least you can laugh at/with Boris. I'd vote for him every day of the week!

I also travel in to London but religiously avoid the bus lanes as I never know if they're covered by cameras. Is there something obvious I'm missing?

i just copy the other bikers, they all seem to swarm into & out of the lanes at the same times.

I have always ridden in bus lanes. My mates take the safest option of actually riding either in the middle or on the left hand side of them, and i've never heard of anyone getting a pull.

I used to ride in bus lanes now & again and I thought I knew what bus lane cameras looked like. After 3 bus lane tickets from CCTV on tall lamp posts, I don't go in the bus lane unless I'm allowed to.

Is Boris really pro biker? Or is he just vote fishing?

Read the attached GLEAM news letter. You don't get much more anti biker than them. Then look at the member list.....seems like Boris is a member!

On the bus lane front, that's good. However, I'm dissapointed to see he's a member of GLEAM - a bunch of NIMBYs who tar responsible greenlane users with the same brush as a small minority who are ruining things for everyone.

Bear in mind that it won't just be the band G cars that go up to £25, ordinary cars will go up to at least £10.

They aren't anti-biker per se. They're anti let's go off road and completely destroy this woodland track.
I live in Oxfordshire and am aware of the problems the Ridgeway and other tracks use to have with idiots in 4X4's turning them into mud baths.
I'm sure greenlaning is fun, but making the lane completely impassable to everyone else is rather selfish IMO.
It was only a matter of time till it got banned.
