I have been riding now for 2 years solid but on off riding for about 4 years

I currently have an old tuned CBR 600F that has served its time well. Summer is here and i want a bike that handles better and goes a bit faster.

Im looking at GSXR's and can afford both 600 or 750 to insure.

Im currently have a 600 available to buy and i took it for a ride and loved the way it takes corners like there just straight. the only issues i have with it is it feels as slow as my CBR (Doubt it is) and its lack of grunt lower down.

Is this resolveble on the 600 or should i wait out for a 750? im really using this as a step in to proper sportsbike world.

Finally lowering either. would droping it no more than an inch front and rear make a big difference? (I have Stubby legs and the extra inch is what i really need.)

Thanks All in advanced.

Hello mate, and welcome!

I've had both and have hardly notice the difference in handling. If anything my 07 750 feels a lot smaler than the older 600, however, that might have been me getting used to biking.

However, the 750 is quite a bit faster, noticibly moreso on the track. I rate them both and don't think you'd be gutted riding either of them.

Keep us informed.

Cheers.

I, like Chilli, have owned a 600 and am now on a 750 (although mine's better than Chilli's because mine is pure black and not bdised by any grey bits). No complaints here.

I also had a GSXR600. The grunt will not be better than your CBR as although the power outputs of the 600 has gone up drastically the torque figures have stayed roughly the same.

If you are wanting a bike with a lot of grunt get the 750 or 1000.

There's always a ready market for used 600s I'd imagine so you can always trade up when you realise it's a bit light in its loafers wink

Have fun smile

either way it will go reound a corner better than my cbr600FJ

With regard to lowering it.......dont, you will completley muck up the geometery of the bike, especially at the front.

I take it if your not that tall, you are not that heavy?

Maybe not an ideal soloution, but could you back off the preload on the suspension, allowing a bit more compression when you sit on it, thus bringing it closer to the deck?

Maybe someone good with suspension could help you out with some advice here.????

Good choice, you will love the GSXR600. Mine loved having its neck wrung. Really came alive above 10k revs.

Get some pics up! I love my old CBR600 F-L jellymould shape, the engine is still game but the skinny tyres and forks don't inspire wink
