test rode the new Fireblade yesterday

compared with the older model it is an improvement in engine and gearbox not that the RR6/7s were bad at all, it definatly feels like its quicker, the one thing i didnt like on it though was how the HESD was set up, on the RR6 i had and on my 600 it doesnt seem to tighten up as early as on the new Fireblade, after riding it then getting back on my 600 i think i prefer the 600 through the corners, although the new 1000 is light it doesnt feel quite as nimble as the 600 through the corners, will i buy one?, probably not im happy with my current bike but overall it is a really good bike and i would reccomend it(if you can get past how it looks)

trust me you will like it , i forgot to mention before that its very very fast,i know all the mags go on about this and that, ive had a 954 which is very similar to your bike and ive had a 1000RR6 and it is an improvement on both(in everything but looks) im starting to warm to its looks a little now the function over form approach, i did consider upgrading to it but when i got back on my 600 i thought i enjoy riding this just as much and i want to do some track days this year and think i would rather be on a 600, im thinking about keeping mine until july or august then buying either a new Fireblade or a used 1098.

That looks loads better, is that the kit from RGS?

I've put a deposit down on the same colour as yours, best of the bunch IMO.

How are the guys at Thunderroad? I bought a blade from them back in 97!

no just put the hacksaw to it and mod it myself rg tail tidy on order but this will do till then

thunderroad guys are tops 2nd blade in 18mths off them

nice!!, looks really good in red/black, the white suits the 600 really well but it doesnt look right on the 1000 enjoy the new bike they do ride really well.

good for you that looks fantastic....i knew the 08 blade haters would change their tune once we started buying them

i love them, have done since i first saw them at the NEC

i look forward to hearing how you get on with it
