WRONG!!!A more capable rider will take ANY bike around the track quicker than a less capable rider on the same machine. That doesn`t mean in the eyes of the fast rider that it`s a good track bike. Ask Rossi about last seasons Yamaha and Button about the F1 Honda. Great rider/driver but package not up to scratch.

It doesn`t depend on how good the rider is. The bike may be a bad track bike. The good rider just gets a bad bike around the track quicker.

Somebody has tried answering your question and you shot them down in flames. You then went on to part answer your own question.

Do you own one and you want peoples views, or are you thinking of buying one?

I think what he means is can the ST be fun on track. A good rider can make it fast but have a miserable time in the process.

It's quite simple really, it might perform st with a novice rider on track, but really fast with a decent rider... Nothing wrong with Y2Blade's answer.

I didn`t shoot them down in flames neither did I part answer my own question. We know how important talent is when trying to get around the track quickly. BUT, loads of talent doesn`t make a good track bike, the talent just makes the most of what the bike has to offer. I`m just seeking the view of those who have, hopefully, an informed opinion, no more, no less.

I did 2 track sessions with CSS on my 955, ground clearance was a bit limiting, recently replaced it with a Tuono which is much more capable, can't comment on the 1050.

Your replies were certainly abrupt.

The rider on the bike will contribute more to a fast lap than the latest, greatest bike, so Y2 is correct in what he says.

As to what they're like, they had their own race series, so I'm guessing, not too bad?

right shall i try again?

"depends how good the rider is"

because
an slow/average rider will think its great on the track...a quick rider will find it lacking

if you want a bike for trackdays and you are a bit tasty buy a sportsbike not a naked street bike

is that easyer for you to understand?

I remember years ago, before 125's were hp limited, reading an article in one of the bike magazines were Ron Haslam competed against a bike journo on 'the' bike of the day. We are going back some time, so the bike could have been an FZ750 or something of that ilk.

Anyway, RH on the 125, the journo on the larger bike, and the use of a track.

Haslam managed to bring the stock 125 home 2 seconds quicker than the 750.
