Free ridicule

So that Monday can be somewhat accelerated I have decided to allow my mishap of the weekend light up your lives and give you the ability to tear me to shreds...

Picture the scene won't you......

Parked up-been into a well known food hall-came out of food hall and hoped onto my bike.

Started up after putting all my kit back on....

Slowly pulled away and BOOM I'm on the floor, bike is on it's side and I am mad...

What happened????

That's right I left the disk lock on. What a silly bar steward I really am. No damage at all to bike or me but my pride took a knock.

So go ahead one and all get yours in.

You lucky git, no damage at all.

I issued my son with a red plastic sleeve to swap from his disk lock key to his ignition key when lock was in use. No worries, no cost, happy Daddy.

Bad luck. At least there was no bike damage and it's amazing how quickly pride heals when nothing else is damaged!

What is funny I spent Friday mocking these tools as items for idiots... I guess I got a great big slap in the face for thinking that. I am now ordering one as we speak.

At least you didn't take off straight into a wheelie like an associate of a friend apparently did. Only to realise the disk lock is still on when the front wheel hit tarmac at about 30mph.

I did the same, only more stupid. I took off with a great frikkin chain through the rear spokes - crunch. Managed to pull the bugger out.

It's not like it was bright red and easy to spot or anything...

Once pulled up at a corner shop on my old ZX10. Parked it facing down the fairly steep downhill, in gear. Went in the shop for some stamps, came back out, sat on the bike and...pulled in the clutch lever. Next thing I knew, I was lying on my back in the gutter with 230kgs-odd of fully fueled up Kawasaki on top of me. Lay there for about 20 minutes, completely helpless, with petrol pissing out all over me, until a builder's van came round the corner and three blokes managed to lift the bike off me. They didn't quite manage not to laugh. Left in a hurry and never went back!

Done it once but remembered just as it locked the front wheel. Cue bike trying to fall over with me hanging on for dear life. managed to save it, my back wasn't so lucky!

No where near as amusing as me and my mate (on a Cagiva Supermoto 125 thingy) rocking up at a Shell garage in Windsor. Was a lovely day, and parked on the forecourt was a cabrio full on scantilly clad strumpet.

Mate pulls up at the pump, kicks the stand down and puts his feet back on the pegs whilst it drop onto the stand. Except the stand had flicked back up... so there he is - on his side, wedged between the bike, the pump, the hose pulled out and flapping about and his bike peeing petrol everywhere. Of course i was there to help him up straight away. As soon as i'd stopped pissing myself.

Said strumpet looked suitably impressed...

Only done this once also.Luckily Mr.Kawasaki had the forethought to design the front mudguard so the disc lock hit bugger all really!
