Looks to be reasonable enough stuff. Any one got any?

And at those prices, just how good or reliable do you expect it to be...

Must remember to nip down and buy one of those £2.99 Rolexes they sell...

They roll this stuff out every now and then.

General opinion from other forums is that the stuff isn't bad, but you get what you pay for.

If you need a tank bag for occasional use you can't go wrong for £10 and if it breaks after 6 months you haven't really lost anything.

I'm thoroughly not an expert, so this is more of a query than a statement;

Most of the protective clothing does state that it conforms to standards EN1621-1 (See a not too descriptive link here).

Admittedly with most things you indeed do get what you pay for, but if it meets the same standards as more expensive items surely it's worth a look?

hmmm i wouldn't risk the safety gear though... It might pass the spec, but more expensive branded gear will probably far exceed the spec and look after you better.

I have to admit, a helmet for £39.99 concerns me...

Yup. The question isn't "How much does the helmet cost?", more "How much is your head worth?". That said I work with some people who have heads that are not worth anything like £39.99....

It's very easy for a manufacturer to make a helmet meet the ece22-05 spec cheaply.
It's much more expensive to make it actually protect you in an accident...

Bring back the old BSI spec please!

Last time they did a bike gear deal, I had a look at the clothing. It looked very good, even compared with more expensive stuff.
