Carb balancing
Discussion
Is it supposed to take ages?
I borrowed a carb balancer and set about balancing my carbs on Sunday.
Hooked it all up and fired the olde beast into life - excellent, carbs were all over the place - carb 4 didn't even register!
Gave it a tweek...that's better, but now another carb is out...another tweek and another carb went out...tweeked that carb which knocked the first carb out again...oh ffs
Anyway, about an hour later and they were all singing from nearly the same hymn sheet and the bike certainly feels a lot better
Tis a right faff though. Give me fuel injection any day!

IIRC you are supposed to do them in a particular order by balancing them in pairs and then balancing each pair against each other.
Fuel Injection still requires the throttle bodies to be syncronised so you don't ever get away from it albeit not as often.
Glad you got it sorted in the end

Here is a short "how-to" about carb balancing:

You have to start with the "master" carb to which the throttle cable is attached to,
and then work onwards.

O/T : Dan from the US sure has an interesting site,
I would not argee with his patriotic/christian attitude,
but he seems to be quite an original guy, and petrolhead.
