I've always looked out for bikers when in my cars, often moving over off line for them to make a good pass or give them room to filter.

I realise that I am probably (and unfortunately) in the minority by doing so. Now, it is going to be in my interest to help make car drivers aware of us smile

I've seen on a couple of cars "Think Bike" stickers, which you either stick inside and the driver sees them, then check their mirrors wink or to stick inside so other car drivers can see them, through say the rear window.

These are what I have in mind (only smaller and without John Reynolds!):

Which should be available from here:

http://www.multiprint.uk.com/shinysideup/

I've ordered a few, so I could put one inside my daily hack and also inside my daily hack when I change it later this year (I do a large number of business miles and change cars as a result).

I hope to get them next week and I've ordered some so I have some left over. I'll photograph the actual stickers and if anyone would like one, I'd be happy to share them out whilst I have some smile

Cheers,

S

My other half gives way or moves over slightly to let bikes past as she's aware of bikes a lot with me driving one. But,the other day she was driving along and moved slightly over and slowed slightly to let a biker behind her past,he duly shouted at her for doing so when he past and flicked her the V,s.So even when driver's are being courteous it obviously confuses some people!

Hmmm, strange that! Every biker I've moved over for as acknowledged it positively in some way, so can't imagine why your wife got that reaction.

Stickers are on order and as I say, I'll have a few spare. I'd be happy to share them out if anyone would like one.

Great stuff Dave. Did you ring them up? I tried ordering them via email and got nowhere, so called earlier.

I've heard (from a very few) that if you move over too much the car's nearside tyres (can) flick up crap onto the rider...I'm aware of this when I do move over (a bit) to let a bike past on the open road, but in a filtering situation this wouldn't be a problem.
Possibly this is what was going on if it was on the open road?

It's rather strange that your missus was shouted at for moving over - sounds a nutter to me.

Obviously I would look out for bikers and give them more space but if he did that to me, biker or no biker, him and I would be having words.

Poor show that frown

If any of our friends in BB are Scots or Welsh, I'd be happy to share some of the stickers with you when they arrive.

The only reason I can see for any mild annoyance would be the slight slowing down. If he has assessed your missus as being a zero threat, and moved focus forwards on the road, the change of position and speed will come as a bit of a surprise to him. It absolutely doesnt merit any form of abuse, so thumbs down to him for that one.

I'm slightly torn on this one, as I very much appreciate gestures which indicate that a driver is aware of me on the road, but just occasionally will sigh deeply into my Foggy, as the beautiful person in front of me wakes up and dives off the road, or realises I'm there, and indicates left , only to completely ruin a nice filter by taking a mile and a half to move lanes biggrin

Sure MrsMiggins, would you like to PM me your name & address either now/or leave it until I've got the stickers?

Don't worry about the cost of postage, I'll cover it. If you felt that you wanted to pop a few pennies to a cancer research/support charity instead, that would be appreciated - but I'll leave that completely upto you.

I'll have one mate. I'll pm you my details.

Cheers.

Barry.

P.S I can send you a few quid - or donate to either of the charities you mentioned.
