Anyone with (or ridden) a 1098 on here?
Discussion
As i have said before on here, modern 1000cc bikes are all more than fast enough, in this category.
The last nth degree of performance is irrelevant, on the road.
It largely boils down to firstly, your budget and then what is most important to you. Bragging rights at the bar, or a bike which does more than simple figures, on a piece of paper.
The 4 Japanese litre megabikes are all brilliant, no question. Brilliant value, too, half the price a superbike was in 1990, in real terms.
But something like a 1098 is more than just the performance it gives.
Many Italian bikes, Ducatis, especially, i have had 5 including an awesome 999R, move not just the body but the inner senses, they are more than just a bike.

Just had a good look...... not buying one! I honestly don't "love" them.
Seriously Nick, dont just look. Physical beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You need to wander down with both bits of your licence, and a CC for safekeeping, and get yourself on one and riding. There is a difference that goes beyond cold specification, and does, as eluded to above, touch your soul.randlemarcus said:

Not sure yet whether I will be on the terribly boring Honda, or something a leetle more exotic. Fingers crossed, huh?
