Pembrey

[dern]

Morning,

What's Pembrey like for bike track days? Myself and a couple of mates are thinking about doing one in June and going in as novices as we've never done one before. Is this a good track to go to for this kind of thing?

I was hoping to recommend rapid training to the chaps up at Oulton but both days this year are booked.

I'm based in Newbury and my two mates are based in Lancaster so anywhere in between would be good but we've got a base near Oulton too.

Thanks,

Mark

I've done 4 days at Pembrey, i think it's a much better track than most people probably realise.

It's easy to learn the layout and pretty fast. 140mph straight, into a 30mph hairpin is a good test of the brakes. Similar track length to Brands Indy.

Only criticism i have is that it's flat. Other wise it's an excellent little track, and cheap. A few track day organisers book the track for 2 consecutive days, you can do the 2 days and camp for free overnight on the infield. Still works out pretty cheap.

Quick search on YouTube will find you a few track day vids.

If it rains theres masses of grip too, the fact it is flat makes it easier for a novice as you only have two dimensions as it were to worry about, as opposed to somewhere like Cadwell.

Thanks.

The day my mate is interested in is organised by Phil Bevan racing... anyone done a day with them before?

Yes, pretty well organised too.
