The sun is out, and without fail the urge to get a bike has risen once more to the top!

So maybe a quick post to the collective biker massive, trawl your collective grey matter as it were.

i won't bore you with the details.

Whats a reasonable Fireblade Urban Tiger worth ?
On an 'M' plate. Has to be that model.

900RR what ?

What should I be looking out for when viewing.

Id just like something to put in the garage, take to the track twice a year, and drive to work on occasionally

I saw Nervy had bought , or was buying something two wheeled recently, an he's not dead yet, so I thought I might get one again.

Forget the get something smaller, born again biker, you'll kill yourself advice, ain't gonna happen.

They are tasty though smile

Never had one so don't know what to look out for, but they vary wildly on price so make sure you get it checked out properly or you could end up with a real hound.

Honda's are usually bullet proof so you want to be looking for service history, accident damage, drilled sumps etc to ensure it's a genuine bike.

Without looking at the 'fieds I would guesstimate around 2.5k for a low mile minter?

My mate has a '92 he bought last year for just under 2 (I think) and its lovely. Gets loads of interest at meets etc.

Edit to add: one of these:

Nothing wrong with bikes over 10k miles. A bike with 3k on it can be in worse nick, easily. Just check the bikes good and has a history.

my last bike had 40k on it when i sold it. run exactly the same as it did at 20k when i got it 9 months earlier. no need to be scared of mileage, they do use real bolts to hold them together nowdays.

Isn't the 16 inch front a bit of an issue?
Mind you there was that mint black one shown in MCN a while back signed by Tadao Baba himself. That would be a nice touch!

Why would it be an issue? I have a 16 on my Hornet and you just ride the bike for what it is. Its handling has always been very good with the suspension upgrades.

Nice find! I thought they might be worth low 2's so I would consider that one a bargain!

Slightly OT but there was an RGV250 on ebay about 6-8 weeks ago in Urban Tiger colours. Yes, wrong bike but it looked absolutely lovely.

That is true, I thought you were referring to handling issues. With the Hornet the recommended tyres have always been Bridgestones or Avons, both of which are readily available in 16s.

great bike (i had a r/w/b one until recently)
easily one of the best ever made in my very humble opinion, a true modern classic
very useable (unbelievable thinking back to the reviews when it came out)

urban tigers supposedly have a bit of a price premium, get that one bought at 1850!
