Shopping for my next bike at the moment and quite fancy one of these.
Looking for a daily commute of approx 30 miles plus a tourer for a week or two each year.
I love the S but find the riding position too cramped for me so has anyone got a sport and how do you find them to live with?
Are they usable all year round?

Not sure to be honest as I'd discounted the S without even trying it, mainly because of the stretch to the bars (for me anyway).
Even with the R version, I may still get the bar kit, provided it doesn't spoil the ride. I guess that wind will be more of an issue then.
To be honest though, at legal speeds, the wind isn't a problem.
Anyone ridden the K1200R Sport as well as the K1200R? I'd like to know what difference the Sport fairing makes.

I have had both bikes as company vehicles
, the fairing works as you would expect, e.g. The Sport does give noticeably more protection around the upper body than the R with a small screen.

As of 2 weeks ago I now have the K1200 S as a company bike
(1st service tomorrow). First impressions are quite good wind & weather protection as my knees fit nicely behind the side fairing, maybe because your lower body is so well protected, I feel more aware of the wind being deflected to my head and shoulders even though its the same. The main difference in the S is the fork castor angle is different making the steering feel a little slower to respond, and the gearing on the S is a tad higher which robs you of a tiny bit of that amazing K1200 acceleration. As a road bike I think the S is better but for track days go for the R or R sport.

Well, much as I loved the bike, I reluctantly have ordered the new R1200GS.
It's probably a better all year round bike for me.
When I can afford a second bike for more insane stuff, it'll be the K1200R.
You don't appreciate the acceleration until you see cars disappearing behind you in the mirrors.
