Girlfriends father has a place on the isle of man, lots of land, and looking at getting an off road bike to have a little play about on.

Dont really know where to start though - dont have a licence for on road, but want a bike powerful enough to be fun on the hills and so on, so where do i start?!

If it's just for having a blast around some fields / woods I'd definately advise you to get a bike of the enduro variety as opposed to a motocross bike. It will be less 'full on' and much better through woods etc or in tricky, technical situations.

Whether you go for a two-stroke of four-stroke bike is entirely up to you really. Both will be reliable if maintained properly but if anything does go wrong the four-stroke is likely to cost you more.

Engine size depends on your size and experience really but most enduro bikes you see for sale seem to be 200cc upwards for two-stroke and 450 four-stroke.

Pick one of the big four, maintain it well and you can't go far wrong really.

However, if you want to ignore all of the advise above and buy my bike (see profile) I'll gladly sell it to you! biggrin

There's nothing wrong with it mate, I'll only be getting rid of her to get the '09 which should be out September-ish.

You may not know but in motocross the green ones are the fastest!wink
