Pilot Road 2

Anyone tried these tyres? I'm thinking of replacing the BT014s on my ZZR1400 with a pair of these in an attempt to get some better mileage from the rear at least. What are they like in the wet & dry? I do alot of motorway riding getting to different parts of Europe and the BT014s can't really handle that very well, wearing out at an alarming rate in the centre of the tyre. I also use the bike extensively in tha Alps, so need something very good in the curves in all weathers.

I'm running them on the TL and so far they have been great. If you do a fair amount of road riding in the wet and dry then i can seriously recommend them.

I was running Diablo Corsa's before and though great on the track when you got them nice and hot i didn't get on so well with them in wet conditions and they squared off pretty quick on the road

I have run these on both the Speed Triple and now on the K1200. Three things spring to mind:-

Dry grip

Wet grip

Best tyre I've ever had, grip in the wet is astounding. Rear lasted about 7000 miles, a lot of which were with luggage on, front's still got plently of life in it.

they seem well loved & rated above all other tyres on the gsx1400 forum, so i guess that means they suit heavy powerful bikes. im putting them or avons on next, avons are much cheaper & cost might swing it for me with finances at the moment.

I use these on my 2005 R1 as I use the bike for commuting (1,400 miles a month). The last pair I had did 8,000 miles and I have just changed to another pair. The wet grip is amazing and the dry grip is also excellent. I was using Pilot Power 2CT's but I wasn't getting the longevity as the Pilot Road 2CT's afford. If you get them you won't be disappointed, I guarantee.

Cheaper to buy or cheaper per mile?
