Passed the DAS today, minutes before the heavens opened ( I feel sorry for the lad on test after me!), with 6 minors - hesitation being the main pick-up point, but I think I may have just been a bit nervous during the test.
Looking forward to getting a bike and squeezing in some quality riding time before the weather turns for the worse.
Now off to see what my money is good for in the showroom!

Well done mate!!
Right, shopping for a bike eh? I'll just get a beer then we can begin. What are your thoughts so far?!
My thoughts were intially an SV650, but I'm tempted by something that will be smoother on longer runs, so have been looking at half/fully faired 4-cylinder 600s.Right, shopping for a bike eh? I'll just get a beer then we can begin. What are your thoughts so far?!
Narrowed it down to Fazer 600, Thundercat or CBR600FS.
My budget is about £2,500, and I've seen 2002-ish era examples of all 3 for sale near me. The Hondas tend to be higher mileage examples, but apparently it's not a problem as they're 'bulletproof'. My only gripe with the Fazer is that my Dad has one, and I'd like something different (petty, I know!). The Thundercat I know nothing about, other than that it is similar to the CBR in being a very good do-anything bike.
I've only done insurance searches for the CBR, which returned quotes from £660 - £1400 fully comp - is this typical? Might have to go TPFT to begin with, but £660 for FC seems decent for a newbie.
Decisions, decisions...................

I'm in Glasgow - mixed weather recently, but there have been a few hot days. Rutts
Most of my 600 lessons were in the wet (or very wet), so having a dry test was nice!
Of course, as soon as I get a bike I know it's going to piss it down for the next 9 months!
