There don't seem to be many decent UK based bike forums. Londonbikers, Revcounter and UKGSer are good. Visordown seems full of text speak, crap grammar, one word replies and flaky topics.

A few forums won't accept email addresses for Hotmail and the like - as they can be used by spammers.

If you've got an email address for your ISP and you are trying to use a free email address to register, try the ISP one....

It's a bike site/forum. I used to go on it and despite finding some really nice people there, I also found:

- st loads of horrifically racist/biggoted people and posts
- st loads of cor, blimey, women eh! Tits and arses mate! People
- A crap forum system

So I left and came here. And i believe others did too, many went to therevcounter. You don't get too much of the first 2 points on PH as long as you stay within Biker Banter, I find :-)

It's not completely hopeless. The touring section is very useful, as are the advanced riding instructors.

Don't even bother with Bikechatforums - full of 17 year old kids who think that they know it all.

Not entirely - in fact a lot of knowledgeable people.
However, yes there are quite a lot of youngsters, quite a lot of which have an air of arrogance.

Have seen worse attitudes on visordown back in it's hay-day and more of them; I don't see it being any better having older 'know it alls' who don't.

I use this one and strangely a 125 sportsbike forum where most of the members have moved onto 400cc+ bike lol. Will occasionally look on BCF (great people like Kickstart (Keith) who know loads) and a few other bike specific forums.

I've posted on Visordown for a couple of years now. I've also met some nice people who have become friends.

The trouble with Visordown is a lack of moderation, which means that anyone can join and vent their spleen about anything that happens to be occupying the space where their brain should be.

There's a few from TRC who know about the lack of moderation on VD so join under an alias and post racist hate filled filth from time to time.

It's only a forum, it can't kill or main you.

Yet to find a biker forum I like better than here. looked at sv650.org but it seemed almost exclusively populated by kids with 33bhp restrictions and an ill combination of high bravado and low knowledge. Also looked at thechinesebikeforum for when I got my 125 but that was predictably even worse - full of 16/17 year olds whod bought a chinabike, assembled it wrong / not serviced it / serviced it incorrectly / strapped lots of go faster bits on & blown it up.
