A word supporting MCN.
Discussion
I am aware that many bikers dislike (and worse!) MCN, but i have to say i really like the publication. I always have done, before and after working for them briefly in the 1970s.
We are in the middle of winter, in a country where 3/4 months a year, biking is pretty rank, to say the least, there's a recession on, etc., yet today's MCN was a really good read, albeit a smaller copy than would be in summer.
Plenty of articles of interest on upcoming bikes, classics, readers' stories, etc.
Excellent.

Ian,
you're not making many friends round here you know!
There's nothing wrong with the truth, Chilli!you're not making many friends round here you know!
I have never been and never will be, one for towing the line and jumping on the bandwagon.
I am afraid that i will always be my own man and make my own decisions about bikes and everything to do with biking. I always have done and that ain't changing for nobody!
I take bikes and anything connected with them as i find them.
MCN is a good read and people who write it off as totally useless are simply missing out on a lot of good reading and bike news.
Their loss.
(Chilli, i have made 3 good friends through Biker Banter, as it happens...)

Care to read us an article or two then ..?
I couldn't be bothered to go & get one...
It goes something like: Now-once upon a time there was a throttle-mad chap called Craig...
Some examples, from memory. (My neighbour has my MCN right now!)I couldn't be bothered to go & get one...

1/The story about the Norton Commando coming back into production.
I found that most interesting.
2/An article about Donington/Silverstone/UK bike GP.
3/The Tucson article i mentioned in another thread.
Very interesting bike/performance theory.
4/An article about a new threat to motorcycles in bus lanes in London.
Could affect many people.
5/The history of the Yamaha 1000 R1.
A great read.
6/A 3-bike road test for those on a budget. 3 600s tested.
7/A list of UK bike meets, shows, exhibitions, ride-outs, rallys and bike jumbles.
Useful to many bikers.
Just 7 of many examples.

I for one quite like MCN, at the end of the day 99% of all publications either bend or warp the truth to sell more of their own product. So when you read an article take most of it with a pinch of salt and come to your own conclusion.
I agree!A true TROLL are the ones who assume that the however-many-thousands of bikers who buy MCN every week must be idiots!

I read the back 4 pages, ignore ALL the headlines, take the copy with a pinch of salt, scan the centre pages review, ignore if it involves ANOTHER GS1200 comparo, ignore any mention of a secret spy shot of a triumph product (every week), ignore any section that asks for Foggys opinion on anything and then bin it, all by about 9am Wedensday morning.
Lucky its cheap.
Lucky its cheap.
