There seems to be a fair bit of negative feedback regarding FT's stuff. The only FT stuff i ever tried was a pair of summer gloves. The fell apart weeks after purchasing them. The shop replaced them, and the new pair promptly fell apart too. Take from that what you wll.
Caveat emptor etc....

Crap stuff IMO. Caused me preventable injuries when I crashed in FT kit

Damn! I wished I'd asked on here as well. I just bought a FT jacket for 150 squids. I'll let you know how long it lasts.

I have a set of (Textile) FT gear.

It doesn't zip together fully (only at the back), which leads to gettin a soaking at the front & looking like you've pissed yourself.

I will be getting a full zip sewn in in the next few weeks.

The pockets don't stay dry- at all.
Luckily my phone still works, but wallet and money get a soaking!

Apart from having to carry a carrier bag for my belongings, & making sure my trousers don't ride down too far...I manage to stay pretty dry.

Summer use, or any temperature above 15degrees C, the gear turns me into an 18.5st boil-in-the-bag.
Why do these things have zip-down 'cooling' vents which don't filter through to the inner lining?

I'm certainly going to be on the look out for some 'dry weather' gear at the NEC on Monday.

I bought a FT textile suit a while back from a shop pretty much specialising in FT.

The waterproof lining on the crotch of my pants tore so took them back. The shop now no longer deals in FT because of the amount of returns they suffered.

Still got the jacket, seems to work well, but as has been mentioned the pockets aren't waterproof.

I've just bought a two piece set of FT leathers for the misses, at £135 the set I couldn't turn them down and hopefully they'll be good enough for occasional use.

Have only tried FT textile gear, but was v disappointed, had a lot of probs with stitching coming undone (like a few others by the sound of it) and really wasn't waterproof at all.
Decided a couple of years ago not to buy FT again.

I've got a two piece FT textile suit which has been used in all weathers and is absolutely fine, very good waterproofing and very warm in winter. The trousers are bloody hot in summer, mind (though the jacket's well ventilated). Nowt has fallen off it or broken in two years. Bought a FT leather jacket for £50 at the BMF last year and it's been fine too, though I've not used it that much.

Lots of people seem to dislike FT gear though, so maybe I've been lucky.

I bought a set last year online, what a load of rubbish, the fit is absolutely awful. I'd never touch anything by FT ever again.

I bought some FT textiles about a year ago and I have to say, whilst they've not fallen apart, the waterproof-ness of them is average at best - might as well have been in leathers in a downpour recently. They also get b*stard hot in warmer weather. The FT gloves I was given fell apart in a month too. I'd be very skeptical about buying their stuff again, I'd be checking seams and all sorts very closely.

I tohught I'd add my 2pence for what its worth.

I've got a FT leather jacket, textile jacket and FT gloves. The leather jacket has been fine (it the cafe racer one) though I don't really use it on the bike anymore as I bought a berik 2 piece last year. The FT one gets me to the pub and back smile. I got the textile jacket (brand new) at the BMF show for a massive £20 smile Its been a great jacket for my needs, keeps the water out, keeps me warm and has plenty of pockets. It doesn't zip to my hein-gerik trousers through so I need to sort that out.

I've had teh Gloves for a year and a half now and even though they are showing signs of wear (mostly around the cuff) they are still good gloves and I expect another year or 2 out of them.

Can't comment on how well they withstand a battering as I've never crashed in them (touch wood) but I have to say that I've no problem with my FT gear. For the price I paid its been excelent.
