Dad bought one when it was new, very nice with the Akra exhaust and trick suspension. Keep an eye on the rear unit though as his let go on a country lane, it had done about 50k by then though.
Sold it about 4/5 years ago to a shop and I know it took a while to shift from there.
These type of bikes are really only desireable now if they're mint, low mileage examples.. higher miles etc and the just become another '98 Blade'.Sold it about 4/5 years ago to a shop and I know it took a while to shift from there.

It was a nice bike, lots of carbon bits, had about 20k on and very tidy.

I used to see one of these parked up locally (outside a dental surgery) and always thought it was a repaint by the owner who really fancied an Ducati 851 but couldn't afford one!!.

In my defence, I was living in the US in 1998 and we never got an anniversary fireblade over there so the variation was unknown to me before this thread.

You said you bought it recently, do you mind me asking what you paid?
It's always difficult to gauge the added value of a limited edition.
By the way, your pic's show black clock faces, mine are White with the RS Performance logo on them, wonder what gives?

I know this is an old thread, but I stumbled upon it while looking for details of this bike.
This is the Number 14 that I have owned since September 2001.
It would be great to hear from other owners, perhaps a register could be created ??
If you have details of such models, history, or anything to do with these bikes, please contact me
