I need a new rear tyre for my Mille and I don't really like the BT56 on the front so I'll change the pair. What tyres do people recommend for brisk road use? About 3000m per rear would be nice.

I had BT010s on my R6 and they seemed good but I've been told they aren't up to 1000cc bikes. Is this bull?

Could well be true, I'd expect something like a BT012 would be more the sort of thing you'd use.

I've tried Metzler M1s, which it came with. Bridgestone BT010's are a very similar tyre, so should be fine.

I've also tried Metzler Rennsports and am currently running with Diablo Corsa's (spin city in the cold ).

Stick a 180 section on the rear rather than a trendy 190 as it'll go round the corners better.

Have a look at the forum at www.rsvr.net tyre discussions come up once a month.

Im having new tyres fitted tomorrow on my RSV.
Have got BT010 at moment with 190 rear.
I will be going back to Dunlop with 208RR on 180 rear, the origonal 207RR lasted about 5K with track day. I have run dunlop 207 R but the rear 190 is so wide the chain rubs on the edge.
The Dunlops have a good profile for cornering, I think other brands go to 180 rear to catch up.

Been told there not to good in the wet,- but I think it was a summer rider who told me.

Well its now Saturday and Iv just had Diablos fitted with 180 rear (looks kinda small). Done 50 miles on this damp day seem good.

Next weekend of to France for Track day. So more info then.
