Can anyone recommend a place to get a rear tyre fitted (010, 190/50/17 for a y2k blade) in or near Basingstoke please? I know about Micheldever but was looking for somewhere close enough to go to in my lunch hour.

Thanks,

Mark

I have to agree with the Roadwheel recommendation.

Nick (boss-man) is a biker and TVAM member (and usually does good deals ). Also the guys appear to know what they're doing. You can either go in with a loose wheel or they'll do it all for you!

I haven't had a bike for a couple of years, but I wouldn't entrust bike wheels to anyone else, and I naturally gravitate towards them with (frequent) TVR tyre changes!

Spiders, everyone is at least 20 quid more than micheldever and sometimes nearly 40 quid more! I think I'll take a long lunch break and head over to micheldever.

Cheers,

Mark

or get there early on a saturday morning, the Q can get a bit big if you leave it later. (not as bad as for the cars, but with one bay it can take just as long to get seen)

ps fancy an evening ride out sometime?

pps a Westfield re-run needs to happen some time too

The Q can get huge on a saturday, I was there for 4 hours once on the bike... some guy took a guzzi in which needed a special socket to get the rear axle out and guess which tool wasn't in the pristine tool set the guy had been lugging about all summer, d'oh.

A ride out would be cool. We had a baby girl a week ago () so we're a bit tied up with her and her mad sister right now but as soon as things calm down I'll drop you a line.

The westfield needs an mot and a bloody good sorting out but then some sideways fun (maybe even with the bonnet on and the water fountain capped this time) and a beer might just be on the cards
