As im still quite new to riding i am still trying to pick up the lingo that bikers use.
Such words as "huggers" and "Heroblobs" are a mistery to me.
Is there a web page on the net that i can goto that will tell me what these words and other actully mean?

Also sliders. Are these bought purely for grinding down?

Thanks

Hero blobs are the bits on the end of your footpegs

when thery're knackerd you've been grinding them on the road and are therefore "a hero"

See also "chicken strips"

And sliders are for grinding down. You can even get ones with lighter flints embedded in them so they kick up a great shower of sparks.

D3 - assuming this isn't a p1ss-take, a hugger is something that'hugs' the rear wheel and prevents crap being thrown on your rear shock (absorber). Heroblobs are the metal pega manufacturers bolt onto the end of the footpegs, which will grind out gently and lift the footpegs up when you're 'crank & banked' (quote : 'Topgun'). For some bizarre reason, people get delight out of grinding them down with angle grinders.... Best off just unbolting them.

'Chicken strips' are the unused bits on the edge of the tyre, where you have obviously not had the testicular fortitude to do the aforementioned 'cranking & banking' to such an extent you arre using the edges of the tyre. I wouldn't worry about this, take it at your own pace.

Sliders are for judging how far over the bike is leant, and to stop you wearing out your leathers when 'cranked & banked'.....

I advise that you buy a copy of T.W.O each month or grab a copy of MCN each week as all the lingo will become obvious as they have lots of nice piccies to show the trick bits available for bikes.

titanium rod kits to convert normal sliders into sparkies!!

hanging off you bike, maintains the upright angle during cornering. more upright the bike, more grip, more speed.

downside, body part come into contact with the floor, mainly knee. leathers wear down, and grip on tarmac severe.

add plastic replaceable sliders to wear away and replace when worn.

any other words you want help with?

new word:
squid : a biker with a jap pocket rocket, all the matching gear, with no real skill, but brags to his mates about 150mph wheelies, when in reality needs stabilisers and wouldn't out drag a plastic pig.

plastic pig: reliant robin three wheeler.

pulling a minger: not attracting the interests of an ugly bird, but in fact launching a long impressive wheelie infront of your mates.

skidlid: a helmet

tankslapper: the centrifugal forces applied to your front wheel, causing the steering to "slap" from side to side, likely to end in a crash. hence the common fit of a steering damper.

blimey we talk rubbish us biokers don't we?

I thought that tankslapper was the term used for when you testicles slapped into the tank due to sudden unexpected breaking.
