Visor/helmet cleaner that works
Discussion
At home I just use Autoglym fast glass that I have kicking about in the garage, works great on visor and helmet to remove bugs and clean visor. Just a quick spray and wipe before i put the helmet away after a ride out.
When out and about on longer rides or on touring hols I carry S100 visor wipes, I buy a bulk box and keep one on my jacket pocket all year around. They are so good, on a bug laden summers day I can clean my helmet, and windscreen, then pass it around a couple of friends im riding with and they do theirs as well.

Motul visor cleaner has been my favourite for a while but it isn’t the cheapest.
Another vote for Motul, Sportsbikeshop often have it on offer.I also have the Muck off visor cleaner kit for touring, but have now topped up the bottle with the Motul cleaner, which is definitely better.

I have some of the Autoglym stuff. Yeah if you shop around a box of 10 of the wipes are about 90p each ...but still expensive and wasteful to use them daily for cleaning just a helmet at home. I probably use a box a year, they are handy for the convenience. One of them will clean your helmet, screen, and whole front of the bike. The S100 spray works well...but its still £14 for a 100ml bottle and cloth. Does not last long if you want to clean your screen each day with it.
For VFM you cant beat the Fast Glass stuff at £7.50 for 500ml. I carry a bottle with a cloth when on multi week trips on the bike or in the car.

I use fast glass when cleaning the car windows. It have a very strong solvent smell, seems a bit chemically for a visor and helmet no?When out and about on longer rides or on touring hols I carry S100 visor wipes, I buy a bulk box and keep one on my jacket pocket all year around. Assuming we are talking "at home cleaning" then I find the best (and by far the cheapest) answer is to soak a cloth in warm water then sit it over the helmet and visor for a about 5 mins. The muck and dead insects just wipe off. Rinse and repeat if needed. Chuck the cloth in the washing machine periodically and Bob's your mothers brother!
Same here, I soak some Plenty Kitchen roll in warm water and let it soak on the visor, then wipe and dry off with a microfibre cloth. Works for me.Bob_Defly said:

Never noticed .....been using it for over 10 years on visor and helmet. I dont tend to clean it then wear the helmet though, I clean it when I get in after a ride before putting the helmet and bike away. Perhaps why I've never noticed any smell.snagzie said:
