Just wanted to introduce myself to you all... A few of you I have already either met at Goodwood, and the NEC, or I have spoken with you in the past, and more recently via email and phone for advice... which by the way was extremely appreciated!!
After 17 years of nothing short of obsession, (since seeing the original Viper concept), last Friday, Christmas came early... I finally bought my first Viper. A near pristine, 1995 RT/10, Red with white Stripes. (She has a hard top roof, but I need to get hold of some proper Side Screens... If anyone has any they wish to sell, or knows of any available please let me know.)
Anyway... I hope everyone has a Good New Year! (I know I will!!!)
All the best,
Dave

Welcome Dave,
I know how you feel, I purchased my 93 RT10 in June 2006 and still have a grin a mile wide whenever I drive it
. Enjoy.
I take mine out every chance I get, although I hate to drive it with the roof on, which makes for some interesting looks when I am out in it at this time of year

Hi Dave,
Welcome to the Viper family.
I've had my 93 RT/10 for 6 years and as Big Kev says you just cannot get rid of the smile
As some of the guys will confirm I use mine in all weathers but take it easy in damp or wet conditions - the back end will let go with even minor (for a Viper) acceleration!
Looking forward to seeing you at one of the 2007 events.

Hello all... and thankyou for the kind welcome.
I haven't taken my new baby out since getting her due to rather damp conditions down here at the moment, so I am spending alot of my time cleaning her up. Following her four and a half hour journey to me she was black, from the grit and salt etc on the roads, (Looked like she'd just completed LeMans!), bad time of year to do this I guess but she's back to her former glory, just need to get underneath and clean the muck off under there... Not sure how I'm going to do that yet! I also need to fit a front numberplate.
I will happily post some pics but have absolutely no clue how to do so, so any advice there would be appreciated, (or I can email some pictures to someone if they are happy to post them for me?)
Hope to see you at some events this year... I have already spoken with Paul about putting my name down for the GT Championships at Silverstone in May, and Steve Kingshot is not far from me so hopefully I'll try and stay in the loop.
All the best

Mine was very highly polished prior to being delivered, and the guy had sprayed just about everywhere he could get to in the wheel arches etc with WD40 to try and lay a protective film over everything.
It seemed to work... I borrowed a jet wash from a friend of mine which lifted everything off under the wheel arches and cleaned the body down by hand with a sponge and some Autoglym car shampoo and must say she has cleaned up beautifully. Though the wheels are taking me some time to polish up!!! Think I left them a bit too long before cleaning them so they had tarnished a bit, but bit of elbow grease is sorting that out.
As I said the only thing I am a little worried about is cleaning the underside, and how to get to it, but I'm sure I'll figure something out...
How about hiring a car trailer, and trailering her home covered?
