I'm thinking about switching out the stock shocks from the RT over the winter as I have had a couple of broken springs over the last couple of years, figured it might be time to switch them out.

Wondered if anyone has any experience of these from JonB at Partsrack?

http://partsrack.blastmart.com/customer/product.ph...

Details from Partsrack Website:

These custom built Eagle shocks are specially made for your Gen 1,2,3 Viper. Shocks are nitrogen filled, and machined from aluminum billet. The front shocks feature fully adjustable ride height, dampening, & rebound, rear shocks feature ride height & rebound dampening only, & polyeurthane bushings. Multiple spring rates are available. Compare at $2495. Polished tubes and chrome springs available for an additional charge.

They seem to have some pretty good features, but wondered if anyone had any experience of them?

The GTS Plan is already in the pipeline for the future Mark, but likely to be a way off at the moment.

Also looking into the option of getting the stock ones rebuilt through a guy linked with Koni UK, which may well be my best option. But quite liked the option of adjustable ride height etc which is offered by the other ones.

I was talking about getting a deal on some K&W shocks best price I found so far wa about £1700 including delivery.

I guess with shipping and VAT that would be the same price.

Best bit is they are German well engineered and a pretty colour.

The ones posted above are $995, plus shipping taxes etc.

Just had a quote for rebuilding the ones n the car at being upto £150 +Vat per corner, which would include having new springs made, and the shocks being serviced and repainted...

Still tempted by the adjustable ones though...

Scrub that! Just did a search on the VCA forums and the threads regarding the Aldan Eagle shocks do not make for pretty reading! Sounds like they are an absolute pile of censored, I think I'll go down the rebuild route unless any other reasonable, price options come up.

Cheers anyway!

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately GenI & GenII have completely different shocks.

Hi Dave I fitted a set of these shocks a couple of years back. They look nice....BUT!! First outing went over a reasonable bump in the road, load POP as the adjuster was ejected from the shock and pink goo shot all over the inside of my wheel. received replacement......1000 miles later both rear shocks failed....I replaced them all with Koni adjustables and they have been perfect. I would not waste your money on that brand.vomit

Hi matey
fitted some of these a few years back on my 99 rt.
there seemed to be a very slight difference between the range of the rebound/compression
settings,ie not a lot.
the real thing, that got me was i had the spring perch on the lowest thread poss
but the car sat higher than stock, even after a few hundred miles.
the car seem more bouncey,no matter where the knobs where set.
ride height may be adjustable, but not with the springs i had.
Shocks seem to be a black art.Or it might be the price thing.
like you i was tempted with FULLY ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS .
They seem to be reasonably well made for the price, but dont actualy work.
hope this helps,
fear not, this is one of those got to have it,that you can pass up
and sleep well knowing you have saved yourself aggro/bucks.
Any info on good shocks is more than welcome.
ps getting the lower rear mounting fork off the stock shocks was a pita as well.
