Anyone got a spare 6 pack ignition coil set kicking around the back of their garage?

Forget the coil pack, an evening with the multimeter and have come to the conclusion its the injector/coil pack wiring harness.

Anyone got one of those?

Looks like tomorrow night will be dismantling the harness and liberal application of a soldering iron to get things up and running.

Yep broken wire going to ignition coil 4, looked as if it was about where the loom exits the engine Vally to go around the back to the coils, so that probably contributed to it going. Spliced a new section of wire in, some heat shrink tubing and then taped it all up good and tight.

could have used fishboys help to fish the injector connectors back up through the intake manifold but soon got the hang of it with a specially fabricated tool, (bent wire coat hanger)

Not sure yet if its a permanent or temporary solution but suspect at $400 for a new wire harness it may be more permanent than temporary. Don't really have any concerns over this fix other than it may just be the start of a series of failures with the wiring getting old.

At Least i know a lot more about the ECU and ignition system than i did this time last week.

Sorry no pics

Ps don't believe everything the service manual tells you, the hard bit if figuring out whats right and whats wrong, or in some cases left, such as the wiring diagrams for the spark plug routing which are a mirror image on the coil pack. or the two sections that contradict each other on the coil numbering

I think some of it wasn't updated properly from the GEN1 which has a different layout to the GEN2. but yes it did make it more interesting.
