Hi Guys and Gals,
I wondered if I could entice any of you into another NVR? biggrin
Reason for this early post is to try and fix a date so that people that would like to come have plenty of time to plan find baby & dog sitters etc.

I know that trying to get a date that will suit everyone confused will be impossible banghead so I would like to propose a few dates and then let the majority decide since we want to drive our cars we have to be realistic and choose dates in June July August the busiest time of the car owner year.

So I propose
June 20th 27th
July 4th 11th 18th 25th
Aug 1st 8th
My personal favourites would be July 4th 11th 18th idea

But I am real easy if we could find a date I know there are a few guys who would come (Bruce at the M&C for one) so please post up your interest and dates.

For those of you that have not been on a NVR the format is pretty simple drive food drive food food drive food (there you go fishy more food burger than driving)

We meet Saturday on the Nott’s Derby’s border take a leisurely 60/80 driving mile drive into the peak (avoiding as many tractors as we can) looking for the tight twisty stuff with some great scenery (not up to German bow standards) but as good as we get in the UK
We then stop for a nice lunch break a few drinks then it’s off again into the hills for a few more miles.
We usually get about driving 140/150 miles total before we get to a hotel where we meet in the bar have a beer beer and swap cow & sheep pat stories (A Baz)

Sunday is a drive driving across country to The M&C to enjoy Bruce and Alison’s hospitality before we depart our separate ways.

Last couple of times we have done an on route pub quiz with a top quality prize for the winners (last year’s winners clap Team Netski) walked away with the trophy and the booby prize was awarded to team R&D who despite there AA recovery valiantly stayed with us to the end.

I know that this is called the NVR but I would like to throw the doors open to other owners that hang with the Viper club.

So if you’re looking for some great miles great food great hotels but most of all great friends then get your name down.

Mich & Suzy

If anyone has any ideas for the run ears PM me

Excuse me, its a Holden, not a Vauxhall badge in sight biggrin

Tom, thanks for the list of books, got to see Mickey Thompsons Challenger before Christmas while in LA. Also bought the recently released Mickey Thompson biography at the NHRA museum.

Just a quick heads up guys and not that i'm pushing but those of you that have been on the NVR before will remember the hotel that we stopped in that gave us a private function room and it has to be said super service as well.
They are offering Dinner(3 course) Bed & Breakfast in an excutive double or twin for £139.00 per couple.
If everyone likes this hotel i could get us an early booking in July maybe 4th (and all that entails)

Come on guys what do you think?????????????????????????

Just noticed the 4th July clashes with the Goodwood Festival of Speed... Oh well, I was planning on probably giving Goodwood a miss this year anyway... It's all getting a bit Money Grabbing for my liking!
