Germany 2009 ??
Discussion
After the success of last year, it was felt by many, if not all, that we should definitely return for a second trip. As far as we know, the German VCA are not planning another event like last year, but we thought that possibly a trip off our own backs over a long weekend could be an option?
I have been discussing this with Paul, Tom and Richard, all of whom are definitely up for another trip out there, for various reasons, including those great roads that Graham showed us!
We would obviously need to fill the trip with things to do, as we don't have the assistance of the German VCA this time, or the events that they organised for us, but we have thought that the trip could include another trip to the ring, Tom has suggested a trip to the Villa Trips Museum Link which I believe is not far from the ring, and they are able to organise a Club Visit. Other ideas for things we could incorporate have been the Old Timers Grand Prix at the Nurburgring Link, a Beer/Wine Tasting Visit somewhere, a trip to the Circuit at Spa on the way home, with the possibility of a track day there (depending on cost obviously).
Based on the number of vehicles we had last year, and the possibility of at least another six that have shown interest in a further visit, we could have a really great turn out.
So lets start with finding out who might be interested in something along these kind of lines, and please float ay ideas for things we could do, and places we could visit.
Let the suggestions/logging of interest begin... Please obviously also take it as a given that the Trucks & Brett's Vette are obviously also welcome should they wish to attend.

I'd be up for that again - think I could find some more nice roads for you all
Be careful of the Old Timers GP event - the area gets fully booked very early and very busy, although Nordschliefe guaranteed to be open.
I've been here Reims GP Circuit, France a couple of times and always a welcome stop on the journey - would be nice to get a picture of the Vipers there:

Dave the German VCA are planning another event around the same dates as last time (end of august) around the Koburn area as well. Deiter told me about this when the DVD's arrived but not sure its all been finialized yet, he mentioned he's sending a translation of the itenary over as and when, and our club would be invited once again
reading between the lines and broken english it read to me to be more like a cruise around with the german VCA and other classic US vehicles, stopping off at places of interest over the 3 days, unfortunately though with no airbase day
there's plenty of great roads and places to explore, a nice blast down an autobahn would be cool, i remember that cobbled town that graham took us down on a previous ring trip was unbeleiveably stunning, was built wide enough for tanks to go down, and the tank signs are still up

As you know Dave, I`m up for this. Graham, I loved the pic of the MR2s at the Reims Circuit, as you say if would ,make a great photo shoot and since that photo was taken the complete pit/grand stand area has been restored.I always imagined that the track was a long way from the ring? I remember the Blue/White GTS cars lined up for the press photo shoot back in 1997.We just need 15 Blue and Whites!
Spa sounds good, been meaning to go there for a while now and of course Germany. We've liked everywhere we've been in Germany in the past. Done the Reims thing a couple of times now on way to Hockenheim with Paul. It's a great photo opp.
We are also trying to decide whether to go to Switzerland from Le Mans again this year. Paul do you know if hockenheim is on this year?
